http://www.bampfa.berkeley.edu/pfa_program...ates/index.html ARRR, MATEY: PIRATES AND PIRACY WED SEP 6 2006 - WED OCT 25 2006 Avast, me hearties! R. Nelson's The Pirates of the Great Salt Lake, each a broadside to the hull of the USS Hollywood. The recent rise of Pirates of the Caribbean has left us questioning just what kind …

I have a very fanciful pirate novel that is due to be published in April by ArcheBooks, a very small publishing house, and am looking for authors of other pirate novels to give it a read and write a small blurb for me for the cover. If anyone is interested, please drop me an e-mail to OryginalCinn @ aol . com I can send you a brief summary of the novel first, so you can see if you might be interested. Also, please let me know what you have published. Big thanks to anyone who can help. If anyone is interested in auditioning some cover art, I'd be happy to look at original drawings and trade you a copy of the novel for it. Unfortunately I can't offer any pay.

Okay, somehow a rift is torn in the time/space continuuminum (I'll leave th' details to you Trek/SW/Dr. Who folks to work out) and Pirates of the Golden Age could download music and movies to their resulting ipods or whatever, what music and movies would they like? Would they be fans o' hip hop or metal or country? I'm thinking lots o'reggae and ska, 'specially o' the Jimmy Cliff with revolution and hayhem at its core ... and metal, just because of all the hellraisin it invokes, Public Enemy for the same reasons as the last ones .... I think they'd be fans o' westerns and war movies, too. The Dirty Dozen, The Magnificent Seven, anything with Eastwood or McQueen. Don't kn…

Now, this is by no means high literature. More along the lines of... a B-movie. Y'know, where most of the budget is burned up on creature makeup. The late, late show... Always willing to hear constructive criticism...

Ok get those TIVO's ready...now's yer chance to see Bob Hope as a pirate in the The Princess & The Pirate on TCM tonight, followed by Abbott & Costello meet Captain Kidd at 12:30, which I've been dying to see. Charles Laughton reprises his role as Kidd from the first Kidd movie he did, which was great the first time around. Can't wait to see how he hams it up with the guys.

You guys may have seen this already but its really good. Its a behind the scenes look at what really goes on at a pirate convention. Its quite funny though, not serious at all. Though the characters and costumes are great. Enjoy mateys

I know there was a link somewhere on here to this site previously, but I couldn't find it. Anyways, the site's been updated and it looks like the magazine should be hitting the racks any time now. I'm going to go looking around for it this week and see what it's like. Pirates Magazine If you've seen the magazine "Fairie Magazine", they're the same people putting this one out. If I can find the magazine I'll give it a read and let you know what I think.

Not to be confused with the other thread about Caribbean Pyrates (I hope) two other offerings. Modern Marvels: Pirate Tech on July 9 at 7PM. Deep Sea Detectives: Blackbeard's Mystery Ship on July 10 at 10PM. So you can watch Pirate Tech and then True Pirates back-to-back.

I was at Disneyland today and saw that the movie book for the 3rd Pirates is already out. I looked thru it and read a little bit of it. I can definitely see where a 4th movie will happen. How accurate is this movie book I wonder? To anyone interested the author is T.T. Sutherland. The pictures are pretty cool, lots of Barbossa pix, yay, lol!
