If you have a new event or one that you cant find in the event calendar... Please email us at events@pyracy.com and we'll get it in the formal calendar. You can post in the raids section, but it will get more facetime in the events calendar. We had to limit who can post there, because Stynky says it gets ripe in there right quick with multiple hands in the pie. I've been workin' on the events calendar for the Pub. We are trying to keep it generally Pirate focused... So I've included the following types of events: Pirate Invasions/Festivals Historical Reenactments Maritime Heritage and Seafood festivals Tallship festivals Renaiss…

MDRF lost one of it long time booth owners just last night. Ken of the Ken Show, The Museum of UnNatural History passed away last night after a long battle with C--------. (In respect for Ken, who would never tell anyone what was going on, even though we all knew..) For those who didn't know him, but I'm sure ya would recognize him. Ken was the freak standing outside the booth, with the spiderwebbed tunic, black nail polish, black eyeliner, big boots, and all this on a guy in his 50's with a braided blonde beard down to his chest. To quote him directly, "darn, I still can't believe their letting me make a living at doing this." Ken was a real artist, all the di…

Our previously quit Bully MacGraw awakens from a drunken stooper and proclaims: "Not that I be the arrogant type ye know, but let it be known that all ships that shall pass me harbour MUST lower thar flags in respect to me! Now I have me guns primed and ready! I will not fire a warning!! So listen here Royaliste, Tales and Saber!! When ye pass, lower your flag AND I demand a Capt's share of all your plunder if'ns you think ye can get past me guns!" Will our Mr. MacGraw regret such a challange? Will the Roylaste lower her banner as she passes Mr. MacGraw's harbour? Stay tuned to this Pyrate channel! I am certain photos will follow! Hope to see people this week-en…

Cross-posted from a Friend I know this is late in the week, but I wanted to get the alert out before this weekend. It appears the outdated skill of "cut purse" has been revived at MD faire. Last weekend Jon, one of the rose sellers, had his pouch cut off his belt. (Before anyone skoffs too much, the pouch was recovered later and examined. The stings were cut, not frayed or untied) Here are the details, as much as we could piece together: We believe it happened somewhere between Blessed Scents and The Soap and Wax Candle booth, 4:45pm - 5pm. About 10 minutes later he went to make change for a customer and the pouch was gone. It was a simple deep pouch secured by one t…

So, Red and I were talking about holloween and dressing up. Then we talked about Knotts Holloween haunt, etc... Well, you cannot dress up there. So here's where the discussion led. March 18, 1967 was the openning day of "pirates of the Carribbean" ride at Disney, Anaheim, CA. how cool would it be if they were bombarded and boarded by us in garb? Of course we couldn't bring weapons or alcohol (where'd the fun go?) But I thought it might be an idea worth throwing out there. Especially since I know all the goth kids picked some day every year to fill the park with them all in black and such.

Well it's that time of year again, the time when I get numerous phone calls due to my connections on Ocracoke Island about when I am going to organize a festival there. The problem is always the same though. Back in the eighties they had a thing called Buccanner days, didn't really have anything to do with Pirates though, mor of an excuse to get drunk and race dune buggies on the beach. Someone got seriously injured one year and that event has left a foul taste in the mouth of county officials ever since. I may have a better chance with talks this year though due to some new blood being elected to the board. The question is this. If I can get approval this would be …

I'd like to hear from New England area folks about events up here. I'd like to see what pirate events look like. I'm an active but middle aged veteran of Rev-War and Civil War reenacting. sbl@shell2.shore.net

I'm seeking info regarding the Blackbeard Festival in Hampton. I'm fairly new to all this so any info provided would be great! Are 2016 dates set yet? Is there a good hotel within walking distance of the festivities? Thanks!

My buddy that I was going to be traveling with said he can't go so it look like I either make a solo 17 hour flight or I don't go. I hate to be a real wuss but I am l;eaning towards being a wuss no matter how bad I want to go I can't escape the fact it's 19 hours. Since I was planning on leaving this evening I very possibly might get a good night's sleep and leave first thing tomorrow morning. Possibly overnight in Miami and be there Tuesday morning but I am still weighing the options right now.

At Massacre Island, 2023, we got massacred by & massacred (in turn) bugs that only bit below the knee. If this is an issue at events, this is what the Dauphin Island maintenance folks use. He HIGHLY recommended it. I asked him how he could work here in shorts with the things thar bite below the knee. He went into the maintenance room & pulled this bottle out. “This is what we use & it’s works great. Spray it onto dry skin & let it soak in.” (Edit- whole label shown, as info on it may be interesting to folks- ingredients , company info, etc. He also gave me the bottle as I was thanking him for hosting & helping everyone during the event, while…

I know it be a late post for the last Exotic Blend, but the review and the pics are up. Take a gander. Not only did they pressgang me into dancing with them, I also got to MC the show. This Friday in Redlands is the October Exotic Blend Belly Dance event. The theme is creepy or Halloweeny. Sunday is the Nightmare Before Halloween bellydance event and once again, the Crew of the Blue Damsel be dancin' their pirate dance guest dancing yours truly. Check out me website for some more info and drop me a line. It is great to hear from you all. Captain Dunn, The Sage Lion thesagelion.com

alright mates...i had planned on a cool website, but hubby has yet to "fix" it for me...so i leave you to go village photo for the pictures. feel free to use them! Gasparilla Photo Album as for the review. i'm not a skilled writer, so i'll make it short n sweet. i can't even begin to compare the traffic in tampa to washington dc, but we (micah n i) choose to ride a shuttle in from the bucc's football stadium. pleaseant ride, not every far away...only $6 pp...well worth it. parking was "free". we arrived to find many people claiming their spots on the parade route. with GREAT advice from lady elaina we purchaced bleacher seats which kept us away from the screaming, d…
