Hmmm... Strange. The original thread on this faire seems to have been deleted. No matter!! The 2006 Ren Fest will run weekends and Labour Day from August 19th to October 1st. For information and season passes, call (800) 966-8215. On a bummer of a note, My Lady's Cutlass have decided not to perform at this year's MN festival due to schooling and family constraints. They will still be performing at Siouxland and Twig! :) I'll be sure to post their other upcoming appearances. All the best to Capt. Thalia and Jeanne!

I didn't see a topic for this, so I guess I am starting it. I am sort of planning to attend the Beaufort Pirate Invasion in August. As my chosen crew is really just a PiP special, and Surgeon Mission is sort of a floater pirate (not (necessarily) because he fell overboard), I am giving notice that I am looking to sign on with a crew for the event. I'll be the one in the Patrick Hand original planter's hat. (I have an intriguing idea about transportation that will most likely fall through miserably and leave me with no ride if past experience is any indication. If so, I will most likely drive from Detroit as I will definitely stay in a hotel somewhere nearby and will need…

This is just a poll for how many folks we have in the area or would be willing to make the trip to either Illinois or Wisconsin for either GAoP/ Early Colonial reenactments or possibly even an indoor weekend gathering during the winter..... No this is not a recruitment push for one crew or another. Nor is it an attempt to sell you a bridge (though I do have one for... Ah never mind!) This is simply a poll to see who would be interested in taking part and if (in the case of the winter gathering) it's even worth my trouble. I will also add, in no way is this a "You must be PC" kind of thing, but rather a "Let's get good people together and enjoy what we love about the gen…

On Thursday August 2nd a small detachment from the crew of the Archangel landed on the Simmon's Island (parkway) for the 10th annual Pike River Event. Though normally a buck skinner event, it was rumored the infamous Great Lakes River Pirates were to arrive in force. An opportunity of which the pirate-hunting Crew of the Archangel could not resist! By 11:00 pm Saturday morning near a shanty tavern known as Tyburn's Last Drop, the rest of the crew had arrived and assisted in an attack against the River Pirates. And so was the start of my absolute favorite reenactment weekend ever!! Though the usual assortment of hawk throws and contests were offered near the main camp..…

We sailed out underneath the Golden Gate bridge and out onto the open sea... what a spectacular sail!!! It was beautifully clear day with warm weather and rolling swells. Black dolphins leapt from the water in front of us, seals swam alongside looking for treats, and flocks of various waterfowl flew, swam and dived around us. As always, we were armed to the teeth and fired on the Hawaiian Chieftain on our way out of the Gate- This produced a very loud, very shrill scream from one of the Chieftain's passengers- At least we THINK it was a passenger, as we've never known the crew to scream in high feminine cries when we fired on them before. Although I suppose there is a…
