My wife and I will be attending this event. We've been planning for months. This will be the first event we are attending in PC gear. I'm wondering if it is possible for us to hang out in the PC camp for a bit and see what it is like. We both have interest in attending other events already. Who would I need to contact or ask politely (please) to test the waters for a few hours? Thanks in advance for any info.

So I was out walking my dog when I happened to stumble upon a Ren Faire going on this weekend (7/23-7/24). They were all setting up when I was walking by. I had no idea this was going on. There has been no mention of it anywhere! It's located at Heartwell Park off the corners of Carson and Clark. Can't miss it! I was unable to attain any further info, but if you happen to be doing nothing this weekend and you live in Long Beach - stop on by!

Greetings One and All, Mark your calendars ye pirates o' the tall grasses and come out to the John Brown Memorial Park in Osawatomie, Kansas on July 14th for the 1st Annual Festival of the Dragon, a one day event (to test the community's response). The new new website is up and operational: http://www.festivalofthedragon.com/ It lists some of our fellow performers as well as giving the day's schedule of events. Hope to see some of you there, feel free to stop by the Royal Stage or the Children's Realm and introduce yourselves, it would be wonderful to put faces with the names! Ahoy shipmates, first- all are home safe and sound on our side, but we still have many who are on the road. Please check in and let us know you're safe. second- THANKYOU!!!!!! over 100 soaked reenactors from seven groups not including the boat crews. Wow what a great weekend. This was the largest, most action packed, and largest attended festival yet with next year being even larger with help from out friends up and down the coast and across the nation! There is absolutely no way to thank the many crews, vendors, volunteers, and staff who made this happen. It was far from a perfect weekend, but every one adjusted to their little hiccups and bump and diid the absolute …

There will be lots of buccaneers and rovers at the Old Fort MacArthur Days this year. Both the Rogue Privateers and the Port Royal Privateers will be there setting up camp. Cap'n Michael, myself, and our furry crew will be setting up with the Rogue Privateers (in fact, Cap'n Michael is the Captain for the event). We'll be encamped next to the Winged Hussars, so shouldn't be hard to find. The Rogue Privateers will have plenty of artillery present. So lots of excitement. For the youngun's we'll have a spar set up for them to explore, and feel what it was like to climb out on the yard, on the footropes, and reef the sail. We'll also have period games for young and old…

Here's something you don't see every day: A pirate ship made from milk cartons! The big summer festival in Minneapolis is called the Aquatennial, and for the last 30 odd years, one of the big events is a race featuring boats made from milk cartons. (I think it was originally sponsored by Land O' Lakes, the giant dairy company.) The boats can have wood, foam and other stuff, but the primary flotation must come from milk cartons - sealed shut with duct tape, glue or whatever. Most of the boats make it just a few feet into the water before falling apart, but some people put lots of hours and money into building something that will really float. The captains of this ves…

Hampton, VIRGINIA Once a year visitors from all over the country enjoy the sights and sounds of 18th century Hampton overrun by pirates. Hampton’s waterfront comes alive with dozens of pirate re-enactors, costumed in historically accurate garb, who transform today’s Hampton into the busy seaport of yesterday. Led by Blackbeard the Pirate himself, re-enactors help visitors step back in time and re-live the history and legends of 1718 Hampton. The Festival offers a variety of children’s activities, live musical entertainment, fireworks, period vendors, arts and crafts, and much more! For Info Please Contact Israel Hands, Events Master of Blackbeard's Crew, Phone: 757-34…

The pics are now up from the Boarding Actions: California (BACA) class held back in May.. Doc, Jag and I are still hard at work doing revisions of the book and working out the details for the photos and illustrations. Also to be included in the next month or so will be a description of what we're phrasing as the Buccaneer Fighting Arts. Very similar to the Frontier Fighting Arts but with a few twists. Look for that, along with pics from Lansing 2006 in September. www.HistoricalMaritimeCombat.com
