It's after midnight here, had a late dinner and decided to go to the hotel's business center and check my email. Wow, I've only been gone since Wednesday and I feel I've missed a lot here. So far it's been a lot of fun, keeping busy by walking up and down the isles of the booths and all. Tomorrow is the big day, Saturdays are always crazy! Ugh, it's going to be a long day. Well, talk with you all some time on Sunday....that is if I don't run to Disneyland and use my annual passport to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Pirates ride. Yup, 50 years ago on July 17th Pirates opened it's doors. Woo-hoo! Anyway, see ya all laterz! Miss ya Phil!

I'm saving my nickles and dimes for shopping at the HBBF and I was wondering if anybody has a Sutler's Row line up? I did hear that Black Bear Historical Clothing is going to be there. I was wondering specifically if there are vendor's like Loyalist Arms there. Specifically anyone selling non-firing weapons lke Loyalist Arms. Thanks!

July 8-9. Shore Line Aquatic Park in Long Beach CA. This is looking to be a big event with camping over the weekend and crews from all over. We have a small crew attending with a local group and planning on lots of photos. This event has really morphed over the years. It seemed to have a slow start after taking over after the beloved Ojai Pirate Festival. Became Belmont Pier Invasion for a while and now is in a large seaside park in Long Beach run by Order of Leviathan..

Just found out about this one through the pipeline. Was kinda suprised not to see it posted anywhere 'round here. If it was my apologies...but since it's takin' place in a couple days I figgered I'd throw it up here fore everyone who may be interested. The Half Moon, Norseman, Martha Lewis, Martha White and of course the Kalmar Nyckel will all be at their shipyard. Not sure if Shaelyn and I will be making it down, but we're gonna do our best. Would be nice to get away for the 4th and invade someone else instead of being invaded for once! http://www.kalmarnyckel.org/GOTS/GOTS.htm

What a great event! Lots of friendly familiar faces and a few new ones to boot! Nothing could have dampened the spirits of this event – even though a deluge on Friday may have hindered setting up camp, yet…we all continued to pray for better weather and come Sunday we had sun and warmer temps! Both Pirate and Pirate Hunter showed the crowds our best this past weekend. The crowds were good and even the one of the Event Coordinator for Downtown Hampton stopped by to give praises to our Pirate Hunter’s camp! A big thank you to Blackbeard’s crew, the Bone Island Buccaneers for coming so far to ‘play’ to Gentleman Scotty and his lovely wife Kate who stopped by the pirat…

I have seen random posts of those who live in or around the murky waters of Baltimore, and was curious... Is anyone planning on attending Opening Day of the Maryland Renaissance Festival? I have a large crew of ruffians that will be attending - partially to help commemorate me birthing day.... But, perhaps we can find a time/place to raise some hell and watch the Pyrates Royale and put a face to the name? Here - if interested, I propose meeting at the White Hart Tavern at 12:45, right before the first showing of the Pyrates Royale on Opening Day, August 28th. Any takers???????

The on-line journal relating the events at the events at the Blackbeard Festival as seen through the eyes of Mission the Surgeon is up. You can view it starting here. (And, on the off chance that you enjoy that and you haven't read Mission's PiP '07 Journal, you can check that one out here.)

every year, there is the blessing of the fleet at portage de sioux , missouri... and each year they have a different theme... this year's theme, of course, is pirates... a local guy has converted a boat into a pirate ship on which he gives cruises, etc... he is going to be leading the pack on the water... exactly what anyone's participation level is going to be is still being worked out right now...we may end up simply showing up and adding some piratitude to the whole affair... i will keep everyone updated....

Just wanted to note that this is the opening weekend for the Bristol Ren Faire located in Kenosha, WI (on the boarder between WI and IL). The big feature this year is a period correct ship of the Queen's fleet during the 1570s. Log on over to their website (www.renfair.com/bristol) and take a look! P.S. Love to see if I can't get a group together and venture down there for a weekend

My soon to be in-laws go to this every year and had asked that if anyone from the board is going to keep an eye out for them. They be Gary & Betty Hayward. Can't miss them. They're in their 70's and I'll post a pic if I can find one. But if you are going here is Betty's email. bhayward17@cox.net and you can drop her a line to meet and just say hello. Mention you know Lloyd from the pirate board and she'll make the connection.
