Ahoy folks, Just an update of whats going on. We've been on a roller coaster of planning on our side and I hope all understand and forgive us. From last nights meeting I can say the following. Its going to be different than anything we have done before! I know lots of folks are making plans to attend and I've been working with Pern making sure everyone is going to have something to do and let me tell ya, with 100 yes 100 reenactors/ living historians pirates, pirate hunters, sutlers, and not including the boat crews, its a bugger! BUT WE DID IT! Whats on the plate you might ask? The capture of William Howard, which has not been done in three years. The ball Friday ni…

I know it be early but perhaps it's not since I received the Entertainer's Application not even 2 weeks ago. It would be good to get some of us non-stage pirates (and militia) to doing some more interaction. Scenarios, perhaps? Doesn't always have to involve weapons... Looking forward to the '08 Fest. ~Lady B

Just got an email from the organizer, planning has commenced. More news to come... But unrelated to the organization of the re-enactment encampment there, the organizer has asked me to put it out there that more vendors are wanted to expand the pirate market... Artists, crafters, historically influenced sutlers, and more pop-culture pirate themed vendors all wanted. Contact me and I will put you in touch with the organizer for the vendors. Re-enactors, I will be the point man on this one again... M.A. d'Dogge, you have been requested by name for some ungodly reason... something to do with being the currently reigning champion. Date is currently UNCONFIRMED but likely t…

Hey everyone, This one has been a bit of a rocky road, but I am charging forth to make the best of it for this year. Over the weekend of June 25th to 27th (the last weekend of this month), pirate re-enactors have been invited to camp and display at this pirate festival. The festival is a few years old, but has mostly been focused on a pirate theme, but I checked the festival out last year, and got in touch with the organizer, and after some "on again/off-again" question marks, we have an area to camp in, and perhaps display from. I have an email out to the organizer to clear up some last minute details, but if there is anyone in Northern Ohio, or willing to travel from…

Ok, let me explain somethings before I actually post about this. First, my main objective with the "Council" is to have all of the serious pirates/reenactors from the midwest group together as one solid union. This isn't about crews and who's crew is better, it's about what we can all do if unified as one to get the midwest the attention that the coasts and other areas get. Let's face it, we don't see much action out here @ Port Washington, pretty much the same people from the year before, which is fine. Seeing old faces is always a good time. However, we need fresh blood out here. Anyway, before I babble on too much... First, the swap meet, I don't know where we can d…

Calling ALL midwestern pirates! I know there be plenty of ya out there! Just received this bit of information & figured I would pass it along. I'm beginning to make plans to go! Ahoy, Mates! This is Dean Calin from Bounding Main. I'm helping organize the second annual Port Washington Pirate Festival. It is being held the weekend of June 2-4, 2006 in Port Washington, Wisconsin. What started as an impromptu event ended up having about 3,000 people in attendance, so this year we're planning ahead and we're hoping to triple that number. Friday night will have a Buccaneer Bash, a general party for all pirate types, with music, a cash bar and mingling with friends …

Okay, gang, NorCal is coming up soon. One of the biggest, most heavily attended events on the pirate calendar. Those of you who have been, know what I mean. NorCal is HUGE. It also has the added attraction of the schooner Aldebaran doing a ship to shore cannon battle both days. ( I should know, I be part of her crewe!) So, start thinking about heading to the Bay of Saint Francis come June—traditionally on Father's Day weekend. Tales of the Seven Seas will be there, as usual, so come on by and say howdie.

For the past 5 years I have done a free kids game at the Minnesota Renniassance Festival. For the first time in a few years I have the weekend open for Port Washington Pirate Festival and I'd like to bring the game to share. I am having no luck contacting the organizers. The first fellow I dealt with stepped down from his role with the Port Washington Pirate Festival. The person he suggested I contact has not returned my emails (with photos of the kids game). Just wondered if any of you are "in the know" of who I should contact. Note: I am not asking for any money, just permission.

Okay - this event is not quite three weeks off so it's time to start squawking about it. We've got lots of fun stuff planned in the Tales of the Seven Seas camp - beware or some of you may end up married! (Heh.) If you would like to be married, we will have a bower and minister available - schedule a time and it can happen! Patrick Hand will be on, ummm, hand to add that Airship Pyrate je ne sais quoi to our camp on Sunday. Show up in your steamy best and hang out in our Airship Pyrate encampment. Ransom and Chain Shot will be joining us yet again on Aldebaran to fire cannons at all of ye landlubbers during the cannon battle. This is always a pretty exciting - a…
