This Tuesday, at Pier 6 in Baltimore, from 10-noon, my pirates and I will be in the employ of the Mouse, performing dastardly deeds of piracy in front of cheering throngs of school kids as part of a promo for PotCII. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, drop by and say Avast.

While Pirate themed events in Tennessee are still few and far between, there have been a few more Pirate themed activities cropping up recently. Many of these are small(ish) and don’t necessarily meet the criteria for posting on the main events listings. Therefore, in the interest of spreading the word and the greatest inclusivity, I’m starting this thread to post smaller events in the Tennessee area that might still be of interest. (This was Mad Pete’s idea/suggestion. Thank you Mad!) I will endeavour to update this thread if/when I learn of similar events, and I welcome others to do the same! I’m eager to attend more Pirate themed events and activities near me and…

Play on the Pirate team to score some serious booty Saturday night! BarFly Magazine is looking for 5 high-spirited Pirates to take on a merciless crew of Klingons in Dysfunctional Family Feud, at Dante's on Saturday night. Dysfunctional Family Feud is a live gameshow in the tradition of the t.v. favorite, but with BarFly's twist: contestants answer survey questions, based on BarFly research, locally conducted in the taverns and lounges of PDX. The result is a lively game that’s fun to play and hilarious to watch, too, as 'straight answers' randomly alternate with more creative responses from the inebriated public! We are looking to put together a last minute crew …

To those on land and all the ships at sea... Once again, with much anticipation for those of us familiar to the merriment and times to be had, April 9th begins the festivities of Scarborough Faire in Waxahatchie, Texas!! (Approximatly 45 minutes South of the Dallas, Tx area.) It is with great joy and warm welcome that Flintlock Jack and I look forward to meeting any of the local Brethren and/ or not so local. This is a wonderful and friendly festival to attend and although not as large as TRF, we actually enjoy it more in some ways. So, if you are going to be in the area, Jack and I will see you there and raise a tankard or two to pyracy and honor the tradition of it. …

Iron Jack, Patrick Hand and I spent the weekend at the Mt. Ranch Muzzleloaders Rendezvous in Railroad Flat, California (which is in the mountains northeast of the Stockton area.) We decided to try our hand at creating a primitive camp and representing pirates at this event. Patt has been trying to get other folks to join him at these events for awhile so we took him up on this one. We got there Friday morning and were met at the gate by a man with a dead coyote on his head. He gave us the rules and told us where everything was, in particular the primitive camp area. At this event, you have the option of camping in the "tin tipi" area or the primitive area, but in the…

Greetins, Well the Grindlebone Theatre has finally, FINALLY gotten up the gumption ta plunk down cash, buy land, and set up our community and event site. One o the things we've got a mind to do is a yearly pyrate festival. (also a renfaire, a burn, and a few other assorted events, but I digress). Afore we get to the buyin and building phase, and hopefully to AVOID the tearing down and sellin phase, I'd love ta hear what you'd like to see in an event site/campground for a Pyratical festival. What have ya seen that worked lovely in the way of stages, vendor stalls, privys. . . .what has ya seen that was a total disaster. So doz me a favor, mates. Wander over ta www.gr…

The Escondido Ren-faire is the first weekend of April, 3-4. It's a great faire, lots of trees, wonderful area, and of course PRP will be there with our encampment. Though it's not a pirate faire, this particular faire is growing larger and larger all the time as word spreads about the great location. Besides, I love having such an event virtually in my own 'backyard' - I'm seven minutes away! Yippeeee, no camping required for me! If those of you living here in S. Calif. get a chance to attend this event, do it! Even though it's only one weekend, it's definately worth coming for. Hoping to meet some more of you great people! Rumba Rue **Life is what you make it, so…

The Wawona was launched in 1897, and at the time was the largest 3 masted schooner built in N. America. Now she's the last survivor of the once immense Pacific Northwest commercial sailing fleet. She's done everything from haul lumber to carrying salt cod, with a stint as a military barge in WWII. Now the "Powers That Be" have decreed that since she's in need of restoration work, and therefore rather down at the heels, she's not pretty enough to be on Lake Union and must move. Without a berth and workshop, we will lose an incredibly important piece of our maritime heritage. So, we're havin' another benefit to raise money and public awareness to repair this grand old lady …

You might remember that the pirates of Tales of the Seven Seas granted the wish of a 13 year old boy who wished to be a pirate and act on film, through the Make a Wish Foundation. The first part of the wish was granted and he had an awesome pirate adventure aboard the Royaliste on the San Francisco Bay. It was all captured on film and edited into a high-tech 30 minute swashbuckling adventure! On April 16th, we will be presenting the DVD to our wish kid and his family for the first time. The premiere will take place in Ontario CA at 6:00pm. WE WELCOME ALL PIRATES WHO WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND!! Please email me for more details at talesofthesevenseas@hotmail.com -Claire a…
