Join us for a celebration to the memory of one of the most legendary rogues in piratical history- the Infamous Blackbeard!! Saturday April 17th 2004, We'll sail aboard the Royaliste to a historic lighthouse which has it's roots in a pacific pirate legend. The original owner of the lighthouse was a rogue, who was a disappointment to his parents and was sent off to make a name for himself. Upon his arrival on the shores of America, he stated his profession as a "writer". The clerk thought he said "fighter" and sent him to Oakland where there was a small, but notorious haven of pirates. The writer turned fighter struck an accord with the pirates, sent them off in a ship a…

Ahoy you bloody lot. Hoist the Jolly Rogers to the top of the main mast to spread the word about the 4th Annual Baltimore Pirate Invasion and Privateer Day. This years Invasion will be Saturday the 19th of April 1808. It looks to be a full day of pillaging in the streets and a night of plundering to local public houses. Again this year just as in years past we be telling you scurvy Bilge Rats to leave your pistols and sword at home. NO WEAPONS! The rumors on the air at this time say there will be some tall ships in harbor for you to enjoy as well. There will be Vendors and some shanty singers singing in the square and a costume contest again this year so be sure to wear …

This year we won’t just be a band of plunderin’ pyrates running amok at night, we will be raiding the streets of Fells Point during the sunlight hours, as well! This year the fyne folks from the Fells Point Development Committee and our friends at Clipper City Brewing Company have banded together and joined our crew to plan an all-day event: A family-friendly Privateer Day during the daylight hours, and a Pyrate Invasion (grog crawl) in the evening for those rogues and wenches over the age of 21. Greetings, there is an informal invasion planned April 30 or May 1 in Chicago Ill, either Friday or Saturday (Friday is the prefered night so far) If you are around that area then, join us for some drinks and songs at the Kerry Piper in Downers Grove! Last time we had a blast, with Irish pipers and singers and lots of ale. Please email me or PM me about it ASAP so we can plan it better. There is a chance that if there is not enough interest, we may cancel it. So don't plan on just showing up! BTW, this is a going away pirate party for Capt. Morgan, since he is shoving off June 1 for a long sea cruise to Iraq. Merrydeath

As ye scurvy dogs are well aware (be it by seeing or because ye stepped on my pins in the pub..OW!), Penny's got a sewin' kick in her, particularly in the realms of costuming. Anyway, yours truly has been convinced by a friend to go to CostumeCon 22 in Atlanta in a little less than a month. Now...I KNOW that there has to be some pirates about in that end of the water. May'aps some of ye are even going to be ATTENDING this fine event. I couldn'a say for sure. I say if this be the case, then there needs to be a gatherin' in the bar or somethin'. Perhaps a good proper gang of scallywags needs to gather together and haunt the halls...because this convention NEEDS pirates…

The time has finally come! Our long-awaited Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Irwindale, CA is just around the corner. Our Friends of Faire group has a few members here on the Pub, and we will be responsible for the Faire English Weather this year. Do stop by the FOF garden and you may be sprinkled with a bit of the wet weather yourself! Or, perhaps, it may be just a sprinkling of rose petals to adorn thee and welcome in the new spring season! Remember, the Biggins will also be hosting a "guild yard" this year and everyone is welcome to participate in our period games or the "ask Pappy" hour each day. 'Looking forward to seeing everyone in the area at least once!…

grab a bottle. this might be fun. ok- lets say a maritime museum, on a body of water suitable for long boats, doreys, etc... (no big boats) offers you 3000 feet of real estate for a GAOP careening camp- to ultimately become a permanent town- with 200 feet frontage on the water. use of the facilities to include bathrooms, a kitchen, pavilion, and oh yeah an additional 10 acres to do events on offers you free use, just support yourself. only catch- little to no budget, small town with closest transportation (air, bus, rail) an hour away and must be GAOP period. I'm thinking a small port royal. any thoughts?

While this is NOT a pirate event, this is an event that pertains to the period, and I believe some of the participants planning to participate usually portray pirates and are just playing the role of "militia" for this event. But anyways, in Media PA on the weekend of April 4th and 5th, there will be a "what if" battle between the units of Maryland and the militia of Pennsylvania. I believe any military or militia (or civilian at arms) portrayal from 1680 to 1720 will be welcome. Forum where the event is being discussed I plan to attend in my Red Coat digs, as the Independant Company of Foote from Albany New York with anyone I can drag along with me. Anyone interested s…

Well it's the spring Ojai Renaissance Faire this weekend, April 24-25. Weather should be absolutely perfect, PRP will be there. I'm planning on bringing my parrot, Gilligan. Perhaps some of you should make it out there. Would love to meet some more of my fellow pirates from these boards. (I won't be at the fall one, as I will be out of the country at the time) Rumba Rue **Smile and make people wonder what you're up to**
