New pirate group online! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PennsicPirates/ This is a group dedicated to the advancement in the art of plunder and pillaging, within SCA (the Society of Creative Anachronisms) events and various Pirate related events. It primary goal is to attract those who like to attend events of an historical, medieval or pyratical nature. But moreso, for those who just want to have a great time, with like minded individuals. That being said, hop on board and hoist your tankards, for this ships about to set sail!

Bein' captain of me own life's ship now,I be lookin' t' try me hand (or hook) at modern-day piracy reenactin' with a crew o' like minded bilge-rats like yerselves. This grown-up piracy be all relatively new t' me, so any and all souls who wish, please come a-wind t' me and have a chate with a new mate. -Captain's Log 23rd May, Year of Our Lord 2012 Capt. The Pirate Brethren of Texas is currently recruiting new members. We're a GBLT and GLBT-friendly group based in Dallas, Texas. We are mainly a male only crew, but will consider a female crew member on a case by case basis. Our website is http://www.geocities.com/piratebrethrenoftx/index.html We also have a Yahoo group for prospective members to join, at groups.yahoo.com/group/piratebrethrenofTexas With Scarborough Renaissance Faire quickly approaching, I'd like to try to get a few new crew members before this happens (especially when our crew currently comprises of myself and our historian.)

It's coming up on the three year anniversary of the forming of the Pirate Brethren of Texas, and since it's inception, we've had no more than 4 members. I'm going to post here, just in case anyone might be of the right persuasion (and perversion) to join our motley crew. Here's the information: The Pirate Brethren of Texas is a male only crew comprised of gay and gay-friendly men. We do not focus on making members dress historically accurate, and encourage members to dress more towards the Hollywood stereotype (because it's more comfortable!) if they wish. This does not mean that a member can't dress in full historically accurate garb, but they shouldn't complain to anot…

Hello folks. I've got this new idea that I want to work on. The Pirates of Paynetown event needs an enemy. Pirates fighting pirates isn't as cool as pirates fighting the government! A this year's Pirates of Paynetown, we're expecting a few detachments of Royal Marines to battle the pirates on land. What we need is a few stout sailors to fight them at sea. I have a boat, artillery and a decent amount of weaponry. What I need are cannon fodde-um-I mean hearty lads to fight for King and Country! What is required of you: 1) Show up to Pirates of Paynetown August 8th, 9th, and 10th near Bloomington, Indiana and fight in both battles 2) Be willing to get in a boat and possib…

Pirates, I recently decided that I wouldn't mind taking next year off from school if I could sail. Trouble is, I need somewhere to do it. Of course, my preference would be to spend the time on the Royaliste, but I'd be willin' to consider just about anything. The only catch is money... I'd work for room and board, but I don't want one where I have to pay a substantial amount of money to work for someone. Any ideas? This is all still in the planning stages, of course...

SeaLegs and I are looking to start a local group in the Maryland area. Pub crawls and mass drinking are not our thing since most of the time we have our powder monkeys and cabin boys with us. This also means that it would be family oriented. Want to get together sharing ideas on outfitting (sewing both fantasy and authentic), props and music. Also want to go as a group to various local events. Send me a PM if interested.

I'm not sure where to put this thread, sorry if I'm treading on any toes here. Right then. I have am a member of a pirate RPG. We've been going for a little while now, but we need members, especially guys, because we are progressing closer and closer to becoming an all female pirate ship. It's a lot of fun, and posting is pretty regular. As for historical accuracy, we are set in the 18th century, but there is a lot of room for poetic licence, hence the number of girls. There's blood, guts and battles aplenty, you're perfectly welcome to have a girl (or guy) in every port, and a sense of humour is a definite plus. Anyhoo, post if you're interested, and again, I'm s…

Just curious to know if there are any other pirates in the great lone star state. The only events I know of that might attract such scurvy dogs would be the Scarborough Fair (alas, already past) or the big Texas Rennesance Festival (not untill October). Anyone know if there any other pirate events in these parts?I know we have a local SCA, but I don't know if there are any pirates in the group...
