We are forming a maritime living history group in Oregon surrounding historical - not Hollywood - pirates, and are looking for persons interested in joining. For the most part, most of us are either former members of traditional pirate entertainer crews wishing to delve further into historical living history, or members of previous living history groups. If you know what a "kit" is, then we'd love to hear from you, as well as anyone interested in examining a living history pirate/maritime group.

Ahoy, goode shipmates all! I be William MacArthur, the SCA's Patron for the Loyal Guild of St. Erasmus in the Kingdom of Meridies, and Captain of the Seadogges, an Elizabethan virtual vessel. I'm interested in corresponding with anyone, on or off list, on any of the following topics: medieval / renaissance nautical matters; pirates of any historical era; nautical weapons of any sort; and at this point, I'd be especially interested in hearing from any Baratarians! Also: anyone who will be with the SCA for Gulf Wars in March, please note that our theme this year is The Vikings Are Coming! We will have mock ship battles (heavy / combat archery, and rapier), Viking themed c…

The Rhode Island Pirate Players are looking for some new crew. We are an active group that has been educating about what life was really like for pirates and privateers during the GAoP for the past 7 years. 2013 is already shaping up to be another great year, and as we expand we are looking for new mates to play with. We are open to all, from old salts who have been roving for years, to new sailors looking to get their feet wet. www.ripirateplayers.org

So I've decided to reopen the "Pirate School" in Raliegh and I am looking for new recruits. We were called Capt. Scurvy's Carnival of Senseless Debauchery in the past, but we've changed it to Knights of the Black Flag. I have a space in Cary NC where we meet for stage combat classes and general meetings. We have our own tailor for costumes and some really great suppliers for weapons and gear that give us a decent disount on purchases. Travel as far as Florida and California at least once a year is required. Lots of local shows too though. If anyone is interested you can meet me at Camelot Treasures in Cary NC on June 28th for our Pirates day and Autism Awareness pa…

Recently moved to the area. I'm interested in Pirate gatherings, ren faires, historical re-enactment and just plain fun. Wouldn't mind a once a month "Pirate night" at a good pub. I'm open to charity events, boating events, educational events, etc. I love ren faire (around May or June in this area). I would personally like to start my own group if anyone is interested. If there's already an established crew, I don't mind joining up either. Located in the Portsmouth, NH area. Tiberius Flynn

It's coming up on the three year anniversary of the forming of the Pirate Brethren of Texas, and since it's inception, we've had no more than 4 members. I'm going to post here, just in case anyone might be of the right persuasion (and perversion) to join our motley crew. Here's the information: The Pirate Brethren of Texas is a male only crew comprised of gay and gay-friendly men. We do not focus on making members dress historically accurate, and encourage members to dress more towards the Hollywood stereotype (because it's more comfortable!) if they wish. This does not mean that a member can't dress in full historically accurate garb, but they shouldn't complain to anot…

Our mundane professional association had its annual meeting this week in a little hamlet called Seaside, Oregon. The undoubted highlight of the event was the closing night beach party, enlivened by The Portland based BOOM Pirates. You may recognize this as the same crew behind the Portland Pirate Festival. All I can say is thanks for a job well done! The festivities began with the BOOM Pirates kidnapping the leadership team and bringing them back turned pirate. Later, there was swordplay, singing, and canons on the beach. A great time was had by all!

Yr Gwyliad, The Welsh band of Elizabethan period "privateers" is looking for 6 to eight more folk to round out their crew for fight demos, choreographed swordplay and interactin with the public at the Shrewsbury Renaissance faire in Kings Valley Oregon. We're nowhere near as nice to look at at Drake and t'other big name sea dogs, just simple dealers in maritime aquisitions as it were. Whether ye'r male er female,(over 21 with a car) if ye can take instruction, enjoy a rough semblance of authenticity in yer character and costume and are willing to learn swordplay from the ground up we'd like to hear from ye! Or if ye have some experience theatrically let us know. Drop a …

The Crew of the Scavenger is a living history pirate group. Well, that's the goal, anyway, we're trying to make the change to one at the moment. We are based on Floridas South West coast. The focus of our crew is on the golden age of piracy, particularly between the years of 1700 and 1720. We are looking for interested parties to help swell our ranks. As we are making the transition to a living history group, particular attention must be paid to details regarding period correct clothing and weaponry of prospective crew members. The crew attends a few pirate festivals around Florida, intends to start holding living history camping trips, and hosts what will hopefully bec…
