Anyone here in the Louisville, KY area? I live in southern Indiana and I live 1.5 miles from the Ohio River. I have two small boats and a couple of cannons, but very few people to play with. I am looking to start a river-pirate oriented group since Louisville and surrounding areas were known for that. (See Cave-in-Rock which is close enough for a week-long trip. Also New London, Indiana) Right now I play with a local group called the Skurvy Dog Clan, but very few of them are actually interested in pirates. I am already involved with a couple of events that are looking for river pirates, so if anyone is interested, let me know! Also, my biggest cannon is a 1781 U.S. Navy …

Ahoy there, you lot! The Lion's Share is a pirate performance troupe that is based in Chandler, Arizona. We do improvisational acting and comedy with some singing and historical re-enactment thrown in for good measure. We perform at Renaissance faires and festivals around the state of Arizona, and also travel to events around the southwest, as well. We are currently a small group, but we are growing quickly. We are looking for some new crewmen. If you are interested in history, love all things nautical and piratical, and enjoy performing, you are just what we are looking for. We are currently auditioning musicians (male or female -- violin, mandolin, whistle, conce…

It seems that there be sharks in these waters. I have become the local contact point for a few people with interestes about pirates. The local area being Sheboygan, WI. Now I have told them all about the pirate festival in Port Washington and I think they are all going. We are so pumped that talk has started about starting a Pirate group up here. Now this was before I found out that some of you are from Port Washington. Now I have been following the threads as close as I can but I was wondering if there are other groups out there in our area? Also any local websites that I should be hitting to learn about local activites? So what information can you all give me?

i have been advised by a wiser friend to go about starting a crew by building the group around it's captain. That being said, this is a call to arms for people wishing to portray what you think of when you think of pirates. that is to say, galleons, spanish doubloons, the isles of tortuga and Madagascar buried treasure, walking the plank etc. So while Pirate legends will be portrayed, we will also be portraying them with as much historical accuracy as possible. We will be doing the Age of buccaneers Mor particulalry from the years 1662-1689. i have made a comprehensive timeline for my character, which puts us primarily in the caribbean and Indian Ocean, but even as far as…

Hello, there. I wonder whether someone will be able to help me with what may be an odd reuqest. I am in charge of events at Big Surf Waterpark at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, and this year we are hoping to have a "Pirate Day" on July 21. We have already planned a treasure hunt for the kids, eye patches, etc., but what we really need to make the day memorable for our guests are some real pirates to scare the crowd, perhaps have some sword fights, maybe even walk the plank over our wave pool... the possibilities for fun stuff are endless. Can anybody help me find some pirate enthusiasts locally who would be willing to help us out, have some fun, and earn some m…

Ahoy the ship! the Elf Fantasy Fair in Europe is looking for a pirate crew! On the castlegrounds of the beautiful Castle de Haar, over 20.000 visitors will be drawn into the pirate athmosphere, with pirate music, a large pirate settlement and as our closing act: a grand pirate show on a ship, including cannons, rifles and treasure! We would like pirate re-enactment groups to re-enact the era of piracy at our event. There will be enough room for multiple tents and other forms of equipment, so we will try to create an entire village. Some expenses will be paid, but more important: we offer a whole weekend of pirate entertainment at a beautifull site. Those interested can…

As a sailor and history student and enthusiast, I invite you to my party! I am starting up a "maritime culture" reenactment group focused on the maritime heritage of North Carolina. As the home of Blackbeard's last stand, how can we not have a crewe??!!!! All my members will be highly encourage to learn to sail (aboard my 22footer) and learn about the maritime activity in the area from 1750-1780. I don't say "pirate" group because the labels around here are kind of flimsy...not all pirates were pirating 24-7, it was more like "seasonal" work. And take a look at Gov. Eden, everything gets flimsy legally around here! But don't be fooled by the titles...we HAVE FUN! Our…

Ahoy, folks. Whilst there's plenty of piratical history up here in Eastern Canada [running from 1602 through 1844], there's not so much in the way of Pirate Crews. Looking to touch base with crews from Eastern Canada or Northern New England ... shopping 'round, like. So, here's the hook.... Any takers? Or am I down to jigging without bait?

New pirate group online! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PennsicPirates/ This is a group dedicated to the advancement in the art of plunder and pillaging, within SCA (the Society of Creative Anachronisms) events and various Pirate related events. It primary goal is to attract those who like to attend events of an historical, medieval or pyratical nature. But moreso, for those who just want to have a great time, with like minded individuals. That being said, hop on board and hoist your tankards, for this ships about to set sail!

Looking for those wanting to get their pirate garb out for small events (150-200). We are also looking at having some live action events, maybe once a month. We know that the real deal is on the coast, but it is still fun with much smaller crowds. We have a lot of period SCA type groups here civil war, WW11, and the usual knights fighting in the parks. It's time for the pirates of the South to come out of hiding. John
