Well a number of us now have each other's addresses, so I'm wondering if you all still want to do the Secret Santa gifting like last year? If you want to do it: The Secret Santa is open to all Pub members who have been here for at least two months or more. Due to someone never receiving a gift from their Santa, that particular Santa person will not be allowed to join in again. Also, some of you didn't get your goodies out until well after Christmas, making some people unhappy. Please make every effort to get things to your secret person before Christmas. Names must be into me no later than Oct. 31. So that on Nov. 1, I can start pulling names and give all of you at l…

I would have completely missed this if it wasn't for the Journalist who contacted me about doing a response article to this. Not sure if this was posted already.. if so, I'll post it again. Generally it's about Pirate Enthusists of what they think about the recent Somali Pirate activity. **** Link removed by request**** But, um... it's one of those that not only slaps you upside the head, but knocks on yo'r skull to get ye wonderin' and thinking... plus stirs yo'r blood either in a good way or a bad way. ~Lady B

First off I am sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forum... I don't really know where to put it. I am getting to a point where I can't just grow my hair on a whim anymore due to well let's say "work." My research for my MS is easier on me if I keep my hair reasonably short. I like having hair anywhere between shaggy and to the shoulders. I have recently been looking for an alternative to have the illusion of longer hair without having to grow it out. I have found queues and wigs. A site I found while perusing the pub here has both and can base it on my hair. Basically I was wondering which option would be better. I also usually use a bandanna/head-wrap th…

Apologies if this belongs in Plunder, I wasn't sure whether to post it here or there, but guessed here because this also has the "You in your garb" topic :) Seeing footwear is such an important part of pirate costuming (be it accurate or fantasy) I figured it could be fun to post pictures of our footwear here :) These are my old boots (who are now dead alas):

I don't often feel the need to write about personal things to a known or unknown public, even the Pub, but if anything that follows might remind us to cherish what we have and be better to everyone about us, then it will have been worth the effort. About ten years ago my sister went to see my Grandma with her husband and children. They were all excited to see her, for they hadn't been to her home in years, due in large part to geography. They walked up to the door with all of the happy expectation one generally feels when seeing a beloved relative they've missed. My sister was extra anxious and happy for the moment, because my dear Grandma would finally get to see g…

Tiens Amis! Mon nom est Pierre LeGrand. I am an arrogant but approachable pirate who comes to you from the beautiful land of Dieppe, France. I have an American sailor associate who had told me about this site and come here to visit. I have navigated a bit through this site and still trying to understand all that it has to offer. So far, I am very impressed to see people with a passion for the same thing I adore. So how about it. Will the American Pirates open the door and share a Rhum et boisson? (Rum and Drink). Beau jour. I am looking forward to meeting you all. -Pierre

I forgot the whole introduction thing..... I am Wes Olson, 40 years. Spent the last 25 years or so doing anything from WWII, Ancient Rome, Colonial, Rev War, and French and Indian. Always liked pirates, grew up with Disney on TV Sunday nights so we got to see Treasure Island a bit. Always been a history geek too. Married (she thinks I'm nuts) 2 daughters, love hunting, shooting, 4 wheeler, history, making weird things that people quit using hundreds of years ago. Been with the City of St. Peters, MO for the last 8 1/2 years, slowly closing in on 10 years in uniform (Police, with Ranger Division) and still love it. Got burned out on all the snobby folks in some of the …

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum so I thought I'd make an introduction topic. I'm Jenna, 15, from Michigan. I've been obsessed with pirates and anything relating to pirates for a while now. I also love Pirates of the Caribbean and especially Hector Barbossa. <3 I really enjoy reading and writing. Hm...I guess that's it for all. I look forward to meeting some of you very soon! Oh, I also love to talk so if anyone wants to chat, feel free to drop me a PM!

I was at Disneyland last night, riding the Pirates ride....and getting horribly soaked. Oh, yes, the 6th row is the worst, my butt stayed wet and cold all night! I also had to buy flip flops, my mary janes went all to pot! Anyway, with everything going on with the new movie coming out I thought I'd look back in here. It has been a long time hasn't it? Wow! How many of you still remember me? *sheepish grin*

Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself. My name is Sarah and after two ReenactorFests of hanging out with the Crewe of the Archangel I decided that I should probably join their ranks (plus, you can never have enough historical clothing in your closet!). I have been involved in living history for about the past 14 years and am currently involved in WWII after getting bored with Civil War. I look forward to joining the Crewe at events - as well as meeting others. Sarah P.S. Probably should add that I live in Central Wisconsin

Jeesh! Seems like every time I branch out into any threads 'ere at the pub anymore, 'tis a flippin' folly 'o 'lil buccaneers spoutin' all kinda crap, most 'o which has little or nuthin' to do with 'Piracy', fictional or non-fictional. Wot the Bloody Bloomin' 'eck be the drinkin' age in this 'ere joint, anyhoo???...Methinks it may be time to clear this pub outta alla the juveniles, an' chase 'em back to the kid's chatrooms where they belong, as they contribute little to the brethren, nor spend much with the hosts and sponsors **Steps off soapbox, walks back up gangplank, and pours a shot 'o rum with genuine, ADULT pirates****

Some of you may know already from my facebook posts that my 9 year old nephew was put into the hospital recently for a brain tumor. Brennan had massive headaches and they went from La. to Houston for treatment. The tumor is really big and at the base of his brain. Recently he had a biopsy done and they sent him home as they awaited results.... They came in today. Brennan has a really aggressive cancer. It is so bad the Dr.'s told my step sister that they held no hope for him, that if it had been found in an arm or a leg they would have amputated the limb. But with it being so close to the brain, so big and so aggressive they think even with him starting chemo that …

Am I the only one here... Who has never been aboard a pirate ship? Who has never met a pirate? All my life I have been interested in Pirates. I must admit that most of my fascination comes from reading romance novels LOL! The domineering captain and his captive innocent. In all honesty, you learn alot about pirates, their ships, and the era of time from these novels. In HS and college I wrote papers on famous pirates. I would be interested in learning about how you came to be, and about how I can come to be! Thanks and salute
