A toast, grab a mug of whatever floats your boat and toast 6 years at the Pyracy Pub. I know a lot of you have not been here so long, but though I don't post as often as many of you, I enjoy reading what you write, both the serious technical stuff and the lighter fare. That is just how a good pub should be, good strong food for the body, and good strong spirits for the soul. Here is to many more years at the Pub!

Wild mountain Highlander, signing on board. This is a rather interesting chat board! Much different from the others that I frequent! So- my interest on pyracy is minimal. However, I have a nephew who is putting together a pirate outfit. I'm helping him with that, which is how I found this board. I was looking for pictures of sword baldrics. There are some excellent artisans here! I may have to post some pictures of my own work. Anyways, I'm signed on, so I thought I should say... AAARRGGGHH!! THERE'S A FIRE ON ME POOP DECK!! (Bet you've never heard that one before!! )

Absolutely great to see the folks at the Lock House gathering this weekend. Blackjohn, Callenish, Saltypots, Hamish, Michael Bagley, Kate Souris, Dorian Lassiter and his lady (sorry, I'm lousy with names), Crimson Corsair - I'm sure I'm missing names here. Friday night was a bit of an adventure, camping when it's below freezing is always a special time. But great weather, some grand skirmishes, wonderful food, an new cannon tested, and some lively talk around the campfire, and of course, rum, cider, and beer. What more to ask for?? Looking forward to doing it all again at PiP. Hawkyns

INITIATION RITES & PUB MANAGEMENT is the primary thread for introductions and interaction between the old hats of the pub and the new people just joining up, but the tagline also mentions that this forum may be used to "post questions and comments about the Pub to the moderators", so here goes. Question number one... Why does the start page for Pyracy.com still list the 2005 dates of Pirates in Paradise instead of the current dates? Example: Question number two... Could someone please remove the subforum "The Travels of the Ghost Ship Watch Dog" from the Pirate Crews forum? No one on the Watch Dog crew can add or remove threads from that subforum. Since w…

Greetings ladies, gentlemen, and new found friends alike. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Emmanuelle Wilshire. However, many of my friends call me Emil for short. I have tread these pyracy pub waters many times as a lonely soul, but a bit too reluctant in dropping anchor, joining up, and respectfully introducing myself to all of you lovely likeminded people. My home is from the coast of Southern California, but I was falsely accused and convicted of a crime I had no bearing. The governor and his mob locked me up and sent me off in a caged carriage to a land I am not fond with or hold any familiarity. My love has been lost in my departure. Man mad…

Maybe it just me, but it seems like everyone has times when they can use a a healthy dose of something positive. Something inspirational or sensical or even just a break from the daily rhetoric the media feeds us about terrorism, violence and threat levels - the political punditry and the fact that the number of hate groups around the country has increased by more than 50 percent since 2000, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center and all that other stuff about life that can just feel oppressive after awhile. So, here's thread where maybe when you need a healthy dose of something better, you can poke in and maybe find it. (9 hells! I've gone granola!!) The Wolf Yo…

an introduction for the newb. i'm chesapeake, but can be shortened to chesa if you like. i'm named for a bay that's on the opposite side of the country as i am, and i've never been there. i'm nineteen years old. i hope that's not terribly young around here. in any case. i am new to "the pirate scene," but i've appreciated pirates for a long time. actually, i live in anaheim california, and one of the defining moments of my childhood was getting a fortune card for a quarter from the machine in the shop just outside the exit of pirates of the caribbean (the ride). on the one side it had a fortune, and the other had an index of jolly roger flags and the pirates who u…

if i might be so bold, i thought i would post the greeting to all who are aboard this year. i looked back though the christmas greetings from the past and wondered where those pirates are today, kind of a ghost of christmas past thing. to those that still fly the colors and those who flew them, i wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Dusk sets on the Pub. The usuals are bellied up to the bar chugging their grog. No action today, or so it seems. And then all Hell breaks loose as a new Captain strolls into the Pub with guns drawn. "Aye, Matey's...they be callin' me Ol' Blood and Bones ye bilge rats! If'n ye would like to find out why, just test me, me hearties! Me thinks ye will know soon enough as to the reasons, but for now, fill me mug with some of ye finest rum. I be in de mood fer drinkin' now, not shootin so you scallywags can breath easy". Back to business as usual...
