Link is here- http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics...in-US-lake.html How cool is that? They say they are very rare and he has to stay below the surface more than the others in the pod but it looks like he was dyed for Easter.

If you could only have one job for the rest of your life, what would you want it to be? Note that I don't mean, if it were 1700 and you could only have one job, I mean right here, right now. (Warning - we tend to project our current situation into the future and that causes us to overlook potential possibilities. Don't fall willingly into that psychological trap.)

Wanted to share a website my doctor just turned me on to. I've been a minor yo-yo'er where my weight is concerned. However I have never had the struggle with weight that I've had the last 5 years. Sure I've gained a bit here and there, and lost a bit here and there, but NOW I need to loose almost 60lbs. Its been a bit overwhelming these days. I have to admit I haven't been motivated and I have been living in denial. I have been a bit delusional about what it takes these days to get the weight off, verses what it used to take to shed the pounds. Age is a bitch. Anyway....I started using this website today. I am already amazed at how quickly I've learned how easy its be…

this is going to sound a bit lame on my part but I was so thrilled with this I thought I would share just the same. I am working my first Ren Fest in a couple of months from now (techincally in August of this year) and a few days ago I was out a local gathering to pass out flyers for the up comming event (earth day to be exact). And we all had to be in costume and be in character to help get people to want to come, well I was wearing a bodice and an undershirt with some long legged pants. And I was extermly thrilled to find that I actually can get some clevage, granted its not as big as some other girls that nearly have the bloody things spillling out. But it is somthing …

I have a question for the ladies that wear these gypsy "skirts" thingies with the dangling coins on them. Now those things have to catch just about every piece of cloth that gets near them so I'm asking if you all understand this. This weekend at the con I was in the main bar during a pirates charles set. Many pirates were packed into the place and dancing was plentiful, mostly by ladies wearing this gypsy attire. I squeeze by one lady and my vest got caught on a coin and pulled the lady back toward me as we walked in opposite directions. She shot me the dirtiest, meanest look I have seen in a long time and had this disgusted look on her face. When I tried to explai…

In Capt. Twill, Gentleman of Fortune posted that he was getting kinda burned out with Pyracy... I posted that in Winter, I kinda find something else to do...... (that way I don't burn out...) So I made my version of a Browncoat uniform....Cotton Kaki pants (based off a pattern for a Yankey Civil War uniform) and a short brown wool jacket (based off of a Confederate uniform jacket) and suspenders (made outta black webbing) ... I still have to make a holster, and then it's all done I have a pair of tall boots (BUT NOT bucket boots...) So all that is left are the minor details.... maybe I should post a picture of it........ ........still thinking of making a Reaver.... no…

If you could have any single super power what would it be and why? My wife takes flight but I don't know how helpful that would be. She gets cold easily and would most often take the car to work instead of fly anyways.

Afternoon all! With the holiday approaching, I've been wondering about period ghost tales and such. Anyone know any good legends of ghosts or warlocks from the colonial days and such. Spooks, ghouls, fantoms and highwaymen??? Help a fella out?! Rats

This may sound a bit strange to some, but I think I will have some agreement here. Recently, I watched one of these crime shows where a "treasure-hunting" high school teacher hired a "professional treasure-hunter" to assist him in finding sunken ships laden with gold and treasure. The hired hand reminded this teacher that "he seemed like a pirate from the Golden Age and he 'just had that pirate swagger." Make a long story short, the teacher had dished out thousands of dollars to this man and the man took off with loot. The teacher referred to the man as a "modern day Golden Age of Pirate..Pirate. Not because of the crime, but because of his personality and demeanor. Wh…

Yeah.... this should go into "what are you reading right now"... But I just started reading "Maya Cosmogenesuis 2012" So far, it's only talking about the sun rising from a really interesting place on December 21st 2012.... hopefully it will start to explain how the World ends with earthquakes and tidal waves and alla that interesting stuff kinda soon.... Anyway.... I'm thinking what a cool party it could be..... I have to read more of the book, to figure out where would be the best place to be (somewhere in Mexico, maybe) But heck... if the World doesn't end, and the calender just starts all over again...(remember the disappointment surrounding alla the hype about Y2K? …

Just wonderin' how many of you have linguistic skills (down boys!) in another language. I might be taking up a second language, soon. Just curious. When did you learn it and how difficult was it to pick up?

Have you ever been watching a movie or listening to an actor/actress and suddenly realized they were in some drastically different role that caught you off guard? It happens to me all the time, usually with lesser known actors. I was listening to Vince Vaugh being interviewed on a radio show yesterday when it suddenly hit me that he was Nick Van Owen in Jurassic Park: The Lost World. (I usually associate Vaugh with comedies that I can't be bothered to see. Thus the surprise.) Similarly, I recently saw an actor in the movie Tomorrow Never Dies playing Admiral Kelley of the HMS Bedford whom I thought a really cool choice for such a bit part. Then it hit me; that was the…

While we can still experience bullies as adults this question is directed more toward your time spent in school. Were you the kid that was picked on because you were different or sought out for torture because you were weaker by bullies. Or did you prey about others as a bully? Do you have regrets either way? I know schools are always trying to curb the bullies but it never seems to go away. Most logic seems to be to notify the teachers but that only seems to provoke even a greater ammount of violence from the bullies as a reprisal. Woe be John should his mother call the school office about his torn shirt and bruised lip...

"Now that it's all over, what did you really do yesterday that's worth mentioning?" - Coleman Cox Me, I decided to purchase and put up Christmas lights on my house for the first time. (I figured I had been enjoying everyone else's lights on my early morning walks, so I was due.) You?

(Re-creating yet another topic that appears to have been deleted last year. ) I was just enjoying a Butterfinger candybar when it occurred to me that I used to really dislike Butterfinger candybars. I liked Kit Kats or Twix or Whatchamacallits. Now I like Butterfingers. That got me to thinking about the candy thread we used to have (which is now gone apparently) and ruminating on candy. Candy thoughts or memories anyone?

(Well, this used to be an old post on another message board I used to frequent years back. I figured since I rarely go there any more why not try to start one here?.) Feel free to tell us anything about your love ( or lack thereof) lives, be it good or bad. Perhaps we can use this as a means for 'guidance' for those who aren't quite so learned in the relationship business (me). ----------- There is this girl I work with, we flirt like no tomorrow, ha ha. So last Thursday I go up to her and ask her to a movie..she stonewalls the crap out of me and it ends in 'Go home Mike' ha ha I get quite the laugh about it now, but man that night wasn't so fun, especially since I d…

I believe this site has been infected with a virus. I recieved an email this morning, though I didn't open it, it carried a virus. The email was generated from Pub. I have done everything I can to shut it down. Be forewarned, if you get an email that says it's coming from the Pub and has a link to click on, don't click on it, delete.

The incoming class of 2012 knows some of the following: 1. Jay Leno has been the only host of the Tonight Show. 2. IBM never made typewriters. 3. Pee-Wee never had a playhouse. Check out the others here -- goes back to the Class of 2000... http://www.beloit.edu/mindset/2012.php -- Hurricane
