Ahoy, the Mercury! With the Fort Taylor Pyrate Invasion fast approaching, and with so many events happening year round in Florida (and the Midwest), I thought we should broach the subject of 'ship's stores'. We already have numerous 'stores' in the keeping of individual members of the crew. We also have many goods housed year round by John and Janet in Missouri, but I'm hoping to set up larger stores in key places around the country if we have some crew members willing to store them. These would house such things as canvas (tents, ground cloths, tarps, tent flies, etc.), lanterns, line, cordage, stakes, poles, etc. Most of the 'group buy' items and Mercury objects that…

This shall be the place to hang our medals and display our trophies so that no matter where on earth the actual thing resides it shall be on permanent display here.

I was considering a 'Mercury' patch to be produced in November in time for Fort Taylor, but with enough crew members attending at Santa Maria, I could get a run done in time for that event and save everyone shipping be sending the lot to one location. The patch would simply be the Mercury flag, so white embroidery on a black patch. These would run $5.00 each. Is there enough interest to do a run before International Talk Like a Pirate Day?

Just wondering how many Mercury Crew members will be attending this year. Is there any interest in putting together some meals for the crew like we did last year? Steve will be our cook again and I'm sure he'll be up first thingn in the morning making breakfast and bacon for all. Do we want to plan any other meals together? We are already planning to do a small pig on the spit, hopefully on the day all the kids are there, I promised Lily there'll be no goat this time...

While working on the draughts of the Mercury back in 2007 I was against a deadline to complete them in time for PIP, and we never finished discussing names for the great guns. With PIP around the corner I've been updating the draughts and adding more details and information, so I thought I'd start a thread abut the Great Guns of the Mercury. Since the Mercury is a smaller, early vessel of the 1700s, she carries cannon that are six pounders and smaller. She is also carrying a mixture of swivel guns (i.e., bronze pedereros, older falconets and some English brass). This is the list as it is now, and I'll update it as we add the names of the last few. Larboard Guns 1 …

I am needing a head count for the Fort in June 2012. I'm going to call ahead and reserve our shady camping spot. My cell phone # is 573-338-3035. Feel free to call me and let me know as I do not have internet at home right now. Thanks all.

We have an honest to goodness invitation. See what I did there? I used 'honest' and 'goodness' while describing an invitation to a pirate festival. Sorry. Still, we're invited so let's talk logistics. Who wants to do a sea battle and some hangin's?

With the list of festivals we're planning to attend growing and information about the crew growing right along with it, is there interest in a website? Would we all be willing to chip in a buck or two for a website and hosting? I'm tossing around a few names in my head, but I wanted to see what sort of interest we have before hand. We could host pictures, maps, crew information, etc.

So as I have building a ship in bottle of the Satisfaction and looking into facts of the ship and Henry Morgan I found that Henry Morgans Pirate code was one of the few that were written down and survived through the years. I got to thinking chances are most crews pyrate or not had codes of some sort. So then I wondered does the Mercury Crew have a pyrates code and if not should we make one?
