I think each person has their own reasons and motivations for dressing in pirate garb. Some are seriously delving into historical study, in which case only authentic accents should be attempted. Others just enjoy "bein' a pirate", in which case, why not have fun and be a little outrageous? Certainly in this vast world there's room for both types and everyone in between...

From one newbie (on this board, at least!) to another, WELCOME ABOARD!!! I've been particularly interested in the history of female pirates, such as Grace O'Malley and Anne Bonney (hence my name...)

Ahoy, mateys! My friends and I are interested in starting our very own guild of pirate storytellers, but we don't know anything about starting a guild! We've been piratin' a few years now, and can't get enough of it. I'd love to share tales of Anne Bonney, Grace O'Malley and other famous female pirates. We'd also like to spin a few fantastical yarns of our own! Any tips on starting a guild to participate in local pirate fairs would be greatly appreciated!!!
